NEW LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER IN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY
LEADERS HOST RIBBON CUTTING and GRAND OPENING FOR NEW, UNIQUE
MID-CITY COMMUNITY EATERY

BATON ROUGE, La. (October 10, 2022) – Local business owner, Marjoe Holmes in
collaboration with event organizer and small business builder, Tara Wicker host grand
opening of Jo’s Chicken and Waffles in Mid-City.

Join local business owner, community leaders and volunteers for the Ribbon Cutting
and Grand Opening of Jo’s Chicken and Waffles. The event will be held on
Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at 2533 Florida Blvd.

Jo’s Chicken & Waffles is inviting everyone to come out for the Ribbon Cutting and
Grand Opening of the newest Mid-City eatery, on this Saturday. Attendees will
receive FREE t-shirts and fries at the event.

In addition, community volunteers along with neighborhood developer, Community
Builders, Inc, will join in to help paint the 1st Mid-City “Blight to Bright” Sunflower
Mural, (space donated by Mr. Holmes), and gather sunflower seeds from the Sunflower
Garden (located just behind Jo’s Chicken & Waffles) immediately following the Ribbon
Cutting.

“With the help of leaders like Marjoe and myself, who grew up and love the Mid-City
community, we believe that it can once again live, thrive, and become the best and most
vibrant neighborhood in the city of Baton Rouge”, stated event organizer and CEO of

for the Mid-City community.
